LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL ACTIVITIES!
HAVE FUN!!!
HAVE FUN!!!
Hi Falcons!
Can you believe it is the last week of school??? The teachers at Friendship wanted to give you a few FIELD DAY activities to have fun with this week! You can click on the top button to see all the activities videos at once, or click on the buttons for the different individual activities. Be sure to enjoy these with your families and post some awesome videos/pictures for us all to see! You can post them on the Friendship face book page or to this site!
I know this isn't the same as our actual field day, but it can be just as fun!

WADDLE RACE: Grab a stuffed animal or something soft and put it between your knees. Walk in between two baskets or buckets and try to drop your animal into them then pick it up and try to go to the opposite basket. See how many you can get inside in 60 seconds! Thank you Mrs. Peltier for your awesome video!
WATER BALLOON TOSS: Get a water balloon, squishy ball or rolled up sock ball and toss back and forth between you and a partner. Keep a water bucket close by to keep your sock ball nice and wet! Feeling daring??? Grab an egg and toss that with your partner! Thank you Mrs. Delgado and Landon for your demonstration!! CLOTHES RELAY: Get a large shirt, shorts and a hat. Place the hat and shirt at one end, and the shorts at the other. Start at the end with the shorts and run to the other side and put on the shirt, then run back to the other side and put on the shorts. Run again to the other side and put on the hat then run down across the finish line! Thank you to Mrs. Starnes and her cute daughter for showing us how this game works! WATER BOTTLE FLIP: Take an empty water bottle and fill it with about 1 inch of water. Set your timer to 60 seconds and flip your bottle 2 times then do 2 jumping jacks. Keep alternating 2 water bottle flips with 2 jumping jacks until the 60 seconds is over. How many times did you get the bottle to stand?? Thank you for this video, Mrs. French, you did amazing! WATER BALLOON BASKET CATCH: Get some water balloons, squishy ball, or rolled up socks soaked in water and stand opposite of your partner who is holding a laundry basket, bucket or bowl over their head. Take a few turns and see if you can toss your object over and have them catch it in their basket! Be sure to switch with your partner so that you can try to catch, too. Thank you, Mrs. Delgado and Landon, for showing us how fun this game is! MOUSE TRAP: Take an empty water bottle and balance a laundry basket or box on the top of it (see video.) Stand back and use a ball or some rolled up socks and try to knock down the water bottle and trap the socks inside the basket! Mrs. Hayslip you and your kiddos at home did a great job of demonstrating on this video! |

FALCON SIGNS:
Many of you have heard of the rocks that people paint and hide for others to find... well we are making Falcon signs to color and hide!
Print the Falcon sign (you can do as many as you want!) Color and cut it out. Write a short note on the back along with the hashtag #proud2bFSES then tape a straw or stick to the back. Something that you can use to stick the sign into the ground. Now, go out and hide your Falcon sign someplace where another Friendship Falcon might see it! It could be near your neighborhood park, in your front yard, over by the school... Anywhere! Then, when you are out and about, look for the Falcon signs and take a picture when you spot one! Post your picture to the Friendship facebook page with the hashtag #proud2bFSES. We can't wait to see all the Falcon signs around town!!!

Week of May 11 - May 15
Hi Falcons!
This week's activities are simple.... Just. Go. Play. We are winding down the year and have some fun activities planned for next week, our LAST week of school! So, for this week all we want you to do is go outside and play! Take your dog for a walk, ride your bike, walk with your family... or do some movement inside (if it rains!) by doing exercises during commercials, or running up and down your stairs! Just keep moving!
I know you have been doing your best and I have loved seeing your pictures and videos! Keep sending them for us all to see! Next week, watch for a few fun activities you can do with your family!
Don't forget to come find your name on our sign hanging from my tree in front of my house! I am on Oakville St., right by the school. Remember to honk the horn so I can come outside and wave hello to you! Miss you all!

Past Week's Activities:
Week of April 27 - May 1
Hi Falcons!
Wow! Can you believe it is almost May and the end of school?? This week we will be working on our "tummy" muscles which are called our ABDOMINAL muscles! They are so important to us... they help us walk, sit, get up from sitting.... so many things! We need to keep them nice and strong!
Activity for the week:
You will need about 6 - 10 soft objects such as stuffed animals, small pillows, etc.
A laundry basket or bucket or large bowl to drop your animals into.
A soft place to lay down on your back! On some carpet, a towel or an exercise mat.
What you will do is lay down on your back and place the bucket at the top right behind your head. Place the soft objects at your feet. One by one grab the soft object with your feet and carefully and controlled carry them over your head and gently place them in the bucket! You will feel your tummy get nice and tight which means you are working your abdominal muscles and making them nice and strong! See if you can get all your objects into the bucket!
I have included 2 videos.... one of me explaining the activity and one of Janalee, one of our Friendship Falcons, actually demonstrating the activity for you! Thank you Janalee and Janalee's mom for allowing us to provide her video for you to see!
Remember to send me a video or picture of you doing this week's activity! I love seeing you all being active! Miss you!!!
Week of April 20 - April 24
Hi Falcons!
This week we are going to add some color and AGILITY to your activities! What is agility?? It is the ability to move quickly and easily! The video below shows you the entire activity and explains it, however I have typed it out as well.
What you will need for this activity:
4 objects - 1 object that is red
1 object that is yellow
1 object that is blue
1 object that is green
They can be any objects but they have to be small enough for you to be able to place in a "square" around you. Stand in the middle of an open space and place each object in the "corner" of the square about 2 large steps away from you in the middle.
Activity: You will stand in the middle of an open space with your 4 color objects around you. When the colors are shown on the video, you touch that color object and go back to the middle when done. Example: If the color RED is shown, you touch the red object and go back to the middle. Now watch for the next color. If there are 2 colors shown, such as GREEN then YELLOW, then you touch the green item then the yellow item in the order shown. Then go back to the middle. The video will get up to 4 color patterns for you to follow! If you do not want use the video, write out different color patterns on a paper and have someone read them to you as you are doing the activity. Start with one color, then move up to 2 colors, then up to 3 colors then 4! Have fun and be sure to drink some water when you are finished!
Remember, although we are not together, Coach Black and I miss you and wish we were back in the gym playing all our fun PE games!
Thank you to Coach Bolger for posting this fun activity and offering it to PE teachers everywhere to share with their students and have fun with!

Week of April 13 - April 17
Hi Falcons!
I hope you all had a great week last week. I saw a lot of wonderful things posted of you all being active! This week, I have a few activities for you to choose from. One is a scavenger hunt! Scavenger hunts are so fun because while you are out and about walking with your family or riding your bike, you can look for some things on your scavenger hunt list! You can also get creative and write out your own list of things to look for in your neighborhood. I will also include an "indoor" scavenger hunt in case the weather is not good.
The second activity you can choose from is an "Alphabet Fitness" . Before you begin, choose a few words... it can be your name, words on your spelling list, or just a few words you want to pick out! Write them on a piece of paper. Then, look at the alphabet fitness and do the exercise for each letter in the words you chose. Have fun with it!
I really enjoy hearing from you and seeing your posts! Be sure to click on the button above that says "send here" to submit a picture, video or even just a message that says "hello" because I sure miss all of you and love seeing your happy notes in my email!
Miss you all!

Week of April 6 - April 9 (April 10 is a bad weather make-up day! )
Hi Falcons!
This week I will be introducing you to a few fun activities that you can do inside or outside your home with just a few items that you probably have somewhere in your house! The first video is called "Waddle Races" and will give you some fun exercise and I am guessing also make you laugh! Which we all need to do right now! The second video is a "Canned Food Workout" using some canned foods. Pick out 2 canned foods, both the same size and not too heavy! Remember, these videos are optional. As much as I would love you to do them, I know many of you are going outside and walking with your families, dancing to go noodle, and riding your bikes! Hopefully the weather will be nicer later this week and I can show you a fun activity that you all will LOVE and that you can play outside so watch for that. Until then, drink your water, get plenty of sleep, eat healthy and take time to just relax with your family. Miss you big time!!!

Thank you to Mike Morris and the @OpenPhysEd Active Classroom Module for these fun activities!

BONES
Today (March 25) Coach Cutting talked about bones on her FriendshipPE face book page. Recently, one of our Falcons fell and dislocated his elbow and broke a little bone in his elbow. I thought it might be fun to talk about those bones and show you where they are located on your body. We hope Collin gets better real soon!
***Bones are important for structure and protection of our organs.
***There are 206 bones in our body.
***The bones in your arm are your Humerus, Radius, and Ulna
Click this button to see a fun bones dance we do called "The Skeleton Dance"

The toilet paper challenge!
Get creative and think of different ways you can exercise or move with toilet paper! Can you balance it while you walk? Can you toss it hand to hand? Can you slam dunk it? The only thing you can't do is WASTE it! No wrapping up your little brother or your new puppy! We can't wait to see all the ideas you come up with! Let's keep this an "on-going" challenge and post ideas at any time!
