Mixed Up Animals
May 3-May 10 Art Lesson:
Mixed Up Animal Drawing I love drawing animals! But I also love using my imagination to create new and silly things that make me smile. This week, let's have some fun with animals and imagination! Step 1: Think of 2 or 3 animals. For example: Giraffe, Bear, and Fish. Now think about what makes those animals recognizable. A giraffe has a long neck and brown spots. A bear has paws and claws. A fish has fins and scales. Step 2: Create a new animal out of parts of the animals you choose. So I might create an animal that has a giraffe neck and head, a bear body and a fish tale! Sounds crazy, right?! It's supposed to be! Step 3: add a background to your picture. Show where you animals lives. Step 4: On your paper write the animals you combined or invent a new name for your animals like "Giraffearish"! Use whatever materials you would like to draw and color. I can't wait to see them! |

In the story, Jack thinks of all these cool rooms that he would have in his house. What would you have in your dream house? Draw a picture of one room you would like. Make sure to add details so I can know what you make. Details make understanding your picture a piece of cake! |
Choice 3: Draw the outside of a house like you've never seen before. Maybe it has curves, slides and more!
On the last page of the book, Jack shows what the outside of his house looks like. Draw a picture of the outside of your dream house. If you want, add a background (where the setting of story (house) is and color your picture. |
